Frequently asked questions about blood pressure tracker.
What is considered normal blood pressure?
According to the AHA 2017 guideline, normal blood pressure is below 120 systolic and below 80 diastolic. Readings above that range may be elevated or fall into hypertension stages depending on the exact values.
Why is systolic more important than diastolic for many adults?
Both numbers matter, but systolic pressure often becomes a stronger predictor of cardiovascular risk as people age. A high systolic reading can signal increased strain on the heart and arteries even if diastolic pressure is not as elevated.
How often should I check my blood pressure?
If your readings are normal, checking periodically is usually enough. If they are elevated or you are on treatment, your doctor may want you to track it more regularly at home, ideally at the same time of day under similar conditions.
Can one high reading mean I have hypertension?
Not usually. Blood pressure varies with stress, caffeine, exercise, and sleep. Hypertension is generally diagnosed based on repeated readings over time or ambulatory monitoring, not a single number taken once.
Does this tracker save my readings?
Yes. Readings are stored in your browser so you can review recent history and trends on the same device. They are not uploaded to a server.
