How does the image upscaler work?▼
It uses high-quality bicubic interpolation (the best available in Canvas 2D) to enlarge the image. An optional unsharp mask pass then sharpens edge detail that can be lost during enlargement.
Will my image look better or just bigger?▼
For photos, 2× typically looks very good. 4× can show softness on complex textures. Enabling 'Sharpen edges' recovers much of the edge detail. For graphics, logos, and text-heavy images the results are excellent at any scale.
What file formats are supported?▼
You can upload JPEG, PNG, and WebP images. The upscaled result is always downloaded as a PNG to preserve the full quality of the enlarged image.
Is there a file size limit?▼
There is no hard limit, but very large source images (over 4000px) may take a few seconds to process since all computation happens in your browser.
Are my images uploaded to a server?▼
No. All processing happens entirely in your browser. Your images never leave your device.
