How is flight duration calculated?
Flight duration is based on standard average flight times for common city pairs. These are typical direct flight times and may vary by airline, routing, and weather conditions.
Why is the arrival time different from just adding flight hours?
When you cross time zones, the local clock at your destination is different from your departure city. A 10-hour flight east from New York to London crosses 5 time zones, so the local clock advances 15 hours total.
Does this account for layovers?
No. The calculator shows direct flight time only. For connecting flights, add your layover duration manually.
