The Warm-Up Effect

Cold typing produces more errors and lower speed. A 2-3 minute warm-up reaches peak performance 2-3x faster than jumping straight into demanding work.

Effective Exercises

Home row drill: ASDF JKL; alternating, 30 seconds. Common bigrams: TH, HE, IN, ER. Weak finger focus: Q, Z for left pinky; P, semicolon for right pinky. Symbols: cycle @, #, $, %, & for symbol-heavy work.
